Fraud moves fast. That’s part of what makes it so hard to stop. Someone gets a call, feels rushed, moves money. By the time a family member, a financial professional or the firm holding the account catches it, the money is gone.
There’s almost always a moment where someone could step in. It’s just short.

CPSI: Client Confidence in Economy Rebounds From Spring Dip
Client confidence has been on an upswing between the spring and summer of 2026, despite heightened concerns about inflation, affordability and greater market volatility, according to the recently released Summer 2026 CFP® Professionals Sentiment Indices (CPSI). This quarterly survey tracks the financial outlook of Americans and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professionals by examining the state of current advisor-client relationships.
Half of CFP® professionals (51%) indicate that their clients’ sentiment has held steady over the past year, with similar proportions assessing their clients’ financial outlooks as having improved or worsened over the past 12 months.
70% of CFP® professionals report that their client bases have grown over the past year, and a similar share expects further growth over the next 12 months.
When a client switches jobs or retires from the workforce, one of the questions you are likely to get is, “Should I roll over my employer retirement plan?” That simple question can lead to significant consequences.
That’s why CFP Board published the Guide to Applying the Fiduciary Duty to Rollovers, a new resource that helps CFP® professionals provide financial advice on whether to roll over assets from an employer plan while fulfilling their fiduciary obligations and adhering to CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct.

Pro Bono Update: You Are Probably Doing More Pro Bono Than You Think
You might not think of yourself as a “pro bono volunteer.” But if you’ve used your financial planning expertise to help someone who otherwise couldn’t afford it, you may already be making a difference through pro bono service.
Pro bono can take many forms — from volunteering for a nonprofit to providing financial planning guidance to someone in your community. If you’ve given your time and expertise to help someone with their financial well-being, we want to hear about it.
In 2025, CFP® professionals reported more than 433,000 hours of pro bono service, representing approximately $130 million in financial planning services. Help us capture the impact of pro bono service in 2026 by reporting your hours to CFP Board.
